Disney Social Media Celebration's "On the Road," provided a “world” of information from how to make your content better and more engaging, and all of the fun, new experiences, treats, and products that Disney, Disney Parks, Adventures by Disney, and Disney Cruise Lines have to offer this year, and beyond. I'll share the DISdom that I learned in a later blog post, but for now, let's take a peek at everything I learned involving Disney Parks and more!
To begin, I have to just proclaim my gratitude! Never in a million years did I think that I would ever be invited to an invite organized by Disney, let alone be in the same room as so many talented, well-known bloggers and influencers. It was truly a dream come true. Gratitude! Thank you to all of the speakers who shared their DISdom and truly made me feel welcome!
Disney Cruise Theme Days are Coming Back!
Disney Cruise Lines’ Theme Days at Sea will be re-introduced back into the itineraries. Starting in January through March, superheroes and Jedi in training can set sail on any one of the ships offering these cool and fun experiences.
Star Wars Day at Sea will provide residents of a galaxy far, far away to be experience interactions with Jedi, Wookiees, droids, Stormtroopers and others during the special day-long celebration.
Superheroes in training will be fully immersed in a day long Marvel experience that will summon your inner super powers! Marvel Theme Days will also bring back Captain Marvel on deck in 2020.
Starting in 2021 through 2023, expect to see three new ships added to their already abundant fleet of cruise ships — all will be slightly larger than the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream.
We've Got Ears, Say في صحتك!
Adventures by Disney already has tailored and freestyle type adventures that are off of the Disney map, where guests can explore exotic locales to old school European towns - with over 35 destinations, there are plenty of sights to see for the seasoned and new traveler. Now, Disney is adding Egypt to their long list of itineraries, where adventurers will now be able to experience some of the oldest known structures with Disney flavor and class. Disney doesn’t cute up Adventures by Disney, they enhance the experience with well-educated tour guides, but you get that upscale Disney feeling. The magic is never lost. Don’t expect The Sphinx to grow ears or anything! Travel to Egypt will begin in 2020, and advance booking starts May 14, and general booking will begin May 16, 2019, for 2020 tour dates.
Disney Skyliner - Birds Eye View of Walt Disney World Resort
Travel in style in the newly added Disney Skyliner system that will take you from Disney Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Designed with the Disney traveler in mind who needs to get to the parks with haste, these gondolas move so fast! There are four different styles to choose from and are full of windows so you can see the "World" from a different view. Opening this fall, will you be traveling by Disney Skyliner or taking the buses or monorail still?
Disney Springs Truly Has It All!
Disney Springs seems like it is forever expanding and under construction, but with good reasons! Recently opened Jaleo by Jose Andres, the new restaurant where authentic Spanish cuisine and tapas are on the menu. For Latin flair, flavorful ambience, definitely put this restaurant on your radar when thinking about ADRs (Advanced Dining Reservations).
Coming to Disney Springs on August 12, 2019, will be the new NBA Experience. Spend the entire day playing b-ball against other basketball fans! Make sure you’re dressed for the experience - I would suggest a cotton tee or tank top, comfy basketball shorts, and proper sneakers so you can go alley-oop your way to victory in style! The NBA Experience is a fully immersive experience for fans of the NBA or WNBA providing a gaming entryway where you're greeted by a crowd of fans, a full hard court, and training! Basketballs fans rejoice! Tickets are on sale now for kids and kids at heart aged 10 and up. For just $34 plus tax you can get a purchase a 1-Day NBA Experience Ticket.
Also, debuting today (May 15, 2019), the new MAC Cosmetics x Disney Aladdin collection debuts. Make sure you stop in for a whole new world of make-up and celebrate the new live-action Disney Aladdin in theaters May 24, 2019. Make sure you check out my review of the JAKKS Pacific line out for Disney Aladdin, and our YouTube channel for the full unboxing video. Make sure you head to Disney Springs today to visit the streets of Agrabah (near The Boathouse).
Disney's AK is Working on their ROAR!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating 25 years of the Lion King (ugh, I feel so old!). Rafiki’s Planet Watch will also be returning to the Animal Kingdom to commemorate this milestone anniversary. With the live-action Lion King coming out this is all too good for words! Expect a lot of The Lion King goodness at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Epcot - Bringing on a World of Change!
At Epcot, major changes and enhancements are coming! Epcot has always been my secret favorite park. I love strolling around to each country and soaking in the sights, sounds, and aromatics of each country. I am so happy to see Epcot’s main entrance getting a facelift. If you have commemorative plates in the Leave a Legacy pavilion or bricks there, be sure to get a “copy” made for $10-20 to take home as a memento always treasure! The bricks and plates will be removed with this refurbishment. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the Leave a Legacy plates will ve outside of Epcot in a "beautiful area."
Paris at Epcot will also get some love with the addition of one of my favorite Disney-Pixar movies, Ratatouille is getting a ride of its very own! Dining will also get an upgrade with another table service restaurant that will be added with a space theme. This new restaurant will provide out of this world dining, and will move guests upwards into the heavens! Well, not exactly, but it looks like diners may have a birds-eye view while noshing on delectable fare. September 30, 2019, will also mark the end of Illuminations. Epcot Forever will begin on Epcot’s anniversary of when the park opened, October 31, 2019!
Happy 30th Birthday, Disney's Hollywood Studios! You're Out of this World!
Disney's Hollywood Studios is getting a whole new land and it's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, and it is opening at the end of summer August 29, 2019. Coming to Disneyland will be Star War's Galaxy's Edge, and it will open on May 31, 2019. Both lands have been long awaited, and will most likely draw in huge crowds. Get in your dose of Disney Parks now if you want to beat the crowds, otherwise, be amongst the excitement with these two epic park openings that will provide true to life experiences only Disney can recreate in perfect form. Have a taste of blue milk, build your own lightsaber, board the Millennium Falcon and go on an expedition like other with the new ride opening at Disney Parks called, Smuggler's Run, and more! Be totally immersed in this land and really feel you stepped onto the desert-like grounds of Batuu made popular by the Star Wars novels.
In addition to the new land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Land is still packing in the wonder of Andy's Backyard. Toy Story Land is truly my favorite part of Disney's Hollywood Studios. There is the new Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway that replaced the beloved Great Movie Ride opening later this year. Plus,
Disney's Hollywood Studios turned 30 years young, and Disney Parks is doing such great things with the new lands, new experiences, return of character meet and greets like Mike and Sully from Monster's Inc, The Incredibles, and the introduction of Disney Junior's Fancy Nancy to Hollywood and Vine's Hollywood & Dine Breakfast and Lunch meals. She is also located for meet and greets at Animation Courtyard in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
New tastes, new sights, new experiences -- Disney is providing fully immersive experiences along the Disney landscape from new tastes, new sights, new meet and greets, new lands, and more. The only problem is now, what do we do first?
Thank you Disney Moms and Disney Parks for the opportunity cover all of these amazing new experiences coming soon to my home away from home.
