Real Mother’s Day Gift Guide for Difficult Moms! Last Minute Gifts for Mom to Make Her Smile, Laugh, or Cry!
I'm not going to tell you to get a card and flowers. Difficult moms don't want that! They want something that is simple but looks like you put in some effort. I should know, I have a difficult mom! She's not difficult in her behavior, it's that I don't know what to ever get for her for Mother's Day! Below are some of my ideas; they may even inspire you to get something else. Many of these items you can get in the same place, except for the first gift idea.
Read on, and let me know if this helped you at all in the comments below! Happy Mother's Day!

When Mom games harder than TheWillyRex...
Is mom a gamer? Does your mom ever bring up her past when she was a kid playing at the arcade? Super Impulse has turned our favorite board games, video games, arcade consoles, and characters and turned them into super small versions of themselves that really work! Moms will love playing the true to life Q-Bert that is shaped like a real arcade cabinet, and it really works! The tiny joysticks are the cutest thing ever! If mom loves the 80’s, then you have the grab the World’s Smallest Mini Little Ponies! She’ll enjoy brushing their hair like when she was little. Pair all of this with a gift card to her favorite store, or even a gift card to get her nails done! Easy-peasy! Buy World's Smallest miniature toys at Target, and the Tiny Arcade cabinets on Amazon.
When Mom just wants you to save your money...
Some moms may not want little novelty items or even jewelry! Some moms are difficult and give ambiguous answers—like my mom! “I just want you to save your money,” which is nice, but I can’t help but feel guilty not giving my mom something on Mother’s Day. Something as simple as a card with heartfelt words will do the trick, and throwing in some scratch-off tickets or even a quick pick lotto ticket is the equivalent of drawing a stick figure picture of the both of you. Step it up a notch and give her a mini herb garden. She can use her herb garden every day and add some flavor to a meal, and think of her sweet baby every time! Make sure you say thank you in the card as bringing a child into the world is hard work! Score!
When Mom just wants to go out on a "date" with their favorite child...
Head to the movies! Lots of great movies are out now. Take her to see Captain Marvel—it’s an easy ticket to snag, plus it’s got major girl power in there! Another plus is that you don’t even have to
Know the other characters to follow the movie as this is an origin story. Show your mom how MARVELous she is this Mother’s Day! Or if you want to get her in the feels, take her to see Toy Story 4 when it comes out. I’m sure Mom took you to see the precious Toy Story movies in the theater when you were small so this will get her all teary-eyed. Moms love to feel nostalgic, and when her baby brings on the nostalgia, it’s even better.

When Mom needs a break...
Leave mom be. Yes, I said it. I’m a mom and all I want this year is to be left alone for an hour. Will I get it? I’ll let you know tomorrow. It’s free, it’ll give mom time to think, and she’ll appreciate the quiet. Once the hour is up, commence bothering mom.
When Mom needs to eat...
Breakfast in bed. Nope. I’m not a fan of eating where I sleep. Take me to IHOP, I mean take your mom to IHOP or to any restaurant that serves food for breakfast. You’ve got an all-around gift here—mom doesn’t have to cook, clean, or deal with breakfast. She gets to enjoy a meal. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and your mom is the most important mom! See what I did there?!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the hardworking, amazing,
Awesome, supportive, beautiful, and so-loved moms out there, especially the moms in a motherly role! Happiest Mother’s Day to my own mom, Lisa!
