My family and I were invited to the Nintendo Holiday Showcase, and as original Nintendo gamers from the '80s, we Princess Peach long jumped across the 59th Street Bridge as quick as we could! I'm talking Princess Peach circa Super Mario Bros 2! She has the best floating jump! We received bountiful gift bags of Nintendo Switch games, a Nintendo Switch case, a Hallmark ornament, and so much more! I am a huge fan of Nintendo, and I am no stranger to this company, but I am still a parent shopping on a budget, so you will get my honest review, and I always try to share the best price available!

Video Game Vibes
The ambiance was nothing short of fun and even quite chill in some spots thus allowing us to opportunity to be guided by professional Nintendo players who specialized in demonstrating the games. Shout out to Matthew, Thomas, and the rest of the crew who helped us.
The good people who work with and for Nintendo created several different lounge areas with fluffy pillows, cute character plush, gamer-approved snacks, and demos of the latest games for the Nintendo Switch. There was even a beautiful aesthetically pleasing setup created by the official Nintendo Inspired team. They created this beautiful desk area set up with the Animal Crossing gamer in mind.
Fun and friendly atmosphere, and yummy food!
They really made us all feel welcome! The snacks were so Nintendo-themed as well. There were mushroom-themed pastry puffs, a quiche fit for Queen Rosalina, and even garlic knots that looked like Pikachu!
I was so happy to demo the new Fae Farm, which is a fantasy farm simulation game. You can grow crops to magic up potions, fish, and level up your farm tools. I am so happy to say that you can also mine. In addition to navigating the world of Azoria, you can also change your faery to anything you want depending on how you vibe for that day. Your fae is fully customizable from skin tone, hair color and style, facial expression, pronoun, and so much more. I found the gameplay to be very smooth. The controls to navigate your tools were very easy because everything stayed on the main screen. I didn't have to toggle from screen to screen, so I liked that. Plus, I found it easy to navigate the map and interact with items from cutting wood to harvesting, all of the controls and movements were very smooth. There is also a small tidbit that I think sim players will enjoy, while your Fae Farmer cooks, the fae can just walk away and do another task. I love that little bit! I look forward to playing at home.

Gaming Fun for Everyone
In addition to playing with toys and eating everything in sight, we got to play the latest games available on the Nintendo Switch.
Super Mario Bros Wonder is available for preorder now! We got to demo the new Super Mario Bros Wonder, and it is just a WONDERful game! The new game is chock full of new Super Mario Bros surprises like the wonder flower that can transform your world and will revolutionize gameplay! When you stumble upon a wonder flower, watch the map come to life with warp pipes waking up to crawl across the screen, changing the map from day to night, a spike-balls rain shower, and more!
You can also power up into cool, new costumes with an elephant berry to turn into an adorable elephant. Take a bite of a drill mushroom to be equipped with a drill head to mine through the ground or ceiling! The bubble flower is, you probably guessed, the ability to blow bubbles to defeat enemies!

Play solo or co-op with your whole family this holiday, and choose your favorite Nintendo characters like Super Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Daisy, the Toads, and Toadette! New Nintendo gamers will love to play Yoshi, they don’t transform with power-ups, but they can eat enemies, spit out enemies and other items, flutter jump, and even carry other players to safety! The perfect family-friendly game with a Disney twist is Disney Illusion Island! This new 2D game opens up a fun hand-drawn world where Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy have to return relics of the Monoth back to the island. In our brief gameplay, my sons found the game really cute and fun—they’re not used to a map like this, but they managed quite well. I think this is a great family game because you can all play together and work together to complete the challenges. I did not notice any bosses to battle to advance to each board, which will give little ones a chance to lead the way.

Detective Pikachu Returns is the sequel to the film and Nintendo DS game, Detective Pikachu. We got to see some of the gameplay in action, and it looks like so much fun!
